The Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce mourns the passing of our beloved past President and lifelong advocate for Latino advancement, Luis A. Lopez, who passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 76.

Luis was more than a leader—he was family. As President of the Chamber, he worked tirelessly to empower Latino entrepreneurs, uplift small businesses, and expand opportunities for economic growth across Long Island. His tenure was marked by bold initiatives, strong partnerships, and a deep commitment to mentorship and advocacy. Luis believed in opening doors for others and was instrumental in laying the foundation for the Chamber’s current success.

In addition to his business acumen as President & CEO of Alante Security Group, Inc., Luis brought vision and heart to every effort he led. Whether organizing networking events, advocating for minority-owned businesses, or mentoring young professionals, Luis gave his time and wisdom freely. He was a steady voice for progress and inclusion, and a constant source of encouragement to those around him.

His leadership style—grounded in integrity, humility, and compassion—made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him. He helped grow the Chamber's visibility and impact, always focused on the collective good of our community.

As we honor his memory, we carry forward the values he instilled in us: service, strength, unity, and love for our community.
